Intimacy, sentiment, regard, celebration—greeting cards have acted as the messengers of love and respect in the United States since our country's inception.  Currently, it is estimated that over 7 billion cards are exchanged each year.  You can expect to receive 20 cards this year.  So can every person you know.  Now, imagine walking down the long greeting card aisle in any of the country's 100,000 retailers.  It is likely you could find that perfect greeting card to warm the heart of your loved one, cohort, or whoever will be receiving the handpicked message.  You could find a card for virtually any occasion that came to mind.
Or could you?

There is a gap, a missing but essential piece to this picture of love and respect in the U.S.  Why is it when a gay boy first comes out there is no greeting card for that special occasion?  What card can be given on mothers' day to express the love between a child and his or her lesbian mothers?  And on Valentine's Day, where can a man find the card for his partner that perfectly expresses the intimacy of their relationship?  This is where we come in—

Making our first appearance in the spring of 2008, SAYSO Designs is a small business run by two students, dedicated to supplying greeting cards for the unique sentiments and occasions of gay, lesbian, bisexual, and transgender individuals, families, and their allies.
